Dream It, List It, Do It!
I stumbled across Kim’s blog recently and it’s a great read. The part that caught my attention most was her list.
It reminded me of the story of John Goddard. He is nearly 80 now but as a teenager in rural USA he wrote a life list of the things he wanted to achieve in his life. His list was based on what he had read in books, heard on the wireless or been told in stories - he had nothing behind him (like most of us do now) to make him think this was possible except his dreams & determination. Helpfully, his list is online and at last count he was at 109 of the original 127 things on the list. As a small aside I do notice he has photographed New Zealand’s Sutherland Falls but never climbed Mt Cook - I’m curious as to why that hasn’t be achieved yet.
As a dad of 2 boys I have wondered when the time might be right to introduce to concept of a list - don’t get me wrong I understand it is a few years off. Another dad who has done this already with a 7 year old I found quite interesting.
My list is still a work in progress and I would like to have started it earlier (as putting things on that you have already done is quite tempting). I’m also not sure about posting it here because there is a thing about how public i would want it to be.
I definitely believe that you need to dream it, then list it (bring it into the real world) and then get on and do it.
Have you got a list? Have you written it down? How is it going?

I have a 101 in 1001 list and so far I really love it. I’m a terrible procrastinator and it’s really helped force me to add some culture/adventure/healthy habits to my life. I’ve even found myself adding things to a list to do after I’m done with this one

I have a list. I just started in September and I have a lot of goals that are in progress, but I’ve only completed 3 so far. Still, I think its going pretty well. If you ever want to check it out, here’s a link.

Good luck with your list. I hope one day that you are able to share it, so we can all enjoy it with you and see your progress.
