Next challenge: More FM
Today was my first day at More FM.
This was part of a number of changes that have been implement with senior roles at MediaWorks Radio (if you make your way past the gay slurs & wedding bells etc.). I’m excited about being asked to lead our biggest national radio brand into its next phase. It’s also really positive that we are putting more resource into developing the local talent within More FM around the country.
Because of its sensitive nature I’m not sure how much I will be able to talk about the journey that More FM is going to go on over the coming months - but what I think is appropriate I will.
Suffice it to say that More FM has a fantastic heritage across 24 markets in New Zealand as a great local radio station. The next steps are to make sure that we are clear about what people want from More FM and then make a promise to deliver on this in each and every show.
The good news is that there is a great desire to build upon what already exists at More FM and our radio competitors are clearing a path for us to be what we want to be.
That’s enough for day 1.
Your feedback on how we’re doing is always welcome.

Yo Ande! Well done young man!
With more resources I hope you will get back some mana for the programmes guys.
Imagination and innovation can fade when success is not shared with those who perform. This is not a truth for just radio but I’ve experienced it in multinationals and Government agencies.
Reward for performance has seen Sales guys enjoy great lifestyles and companies live off high revenues. Programmes get salary and are expected to create large audience share to gain large advertising dollar share.
I hope you get resourced enough to create the want to make better programmes.
